Ballot measure · November 3, 2026 · Green voters
Results: the official election results site. Counts are unofficial until certified.
- What it does
- Shall Section 4.8 of the Charter of the City of Green be amended to replace the option of leaving a copy of the notice at the usual place of residence of the Mayor and Council members and substitute email with read receipt as a form of notification for special Council meetings?
- A YES vote means
- Notice of special Green Council meetings could be given by email with read receipt instead of leaving a copy at the Mayor's and Council members' homes.
- A NO vote means
- The notice options for special Council meetings would not change.
- Needed to pass
- A simple majority: more than half of the YES and NO votes on this measure must be YES. Leaving it blank doesn't count either way.
- Left–right lean
- Not a left–right issue: a procedural or local question that liberals and conservatives don't typically split on (AI read of the official ballot summary).
Background
According to the City of Green, its Charter Review Commission (appointed by the Mayor every seven years) met 12 times from January through early June 2026 and recommended seven amendments, six of which City Council approved for the ballot as Issues 21–26.
The City says the Charter now requires notice of special Council meetings to be delivered to members' homes. Issue 21 would let the Clerk of Council give notice by email with a read receipt instead.
