- What it does
- Charter Issue – Shall Article 6, Department of Finance, of the Charter for the City of Stow be amended by adding a new section as follows: SECTION 6.08 ACTING FINANCE DIRECTOR. The Assistant Director of the General Division shall become the Acting Finance Director with all the powers of the Finance Director in the event the Finance Director is temporarily: (a) Absent from the Municipality, (b) Inaccessible, (c) Unable for any cause or reason, to perform the duties of the Finance Director. In the event that the Assistant Director of the General Division is vacant at the time that the Finance Director is temporarily unable to perform their duties pursuant to this section, the Mayor shall appoint an Acting Finance Director from within the Finance Department, until such time as the Finance Director is able to resume the performance of their duties.
- A YES vote means
- The Assistant Director of the General Division would become Stow's Acting Finance Director when the Finance Director is temporarily unable to serve; if that post is vacant, the Mayor would appoint one from the Finance Department.
- A NO vote means
- The charter would not add this Acting Finance Director section.
- Needed to pass
- A simple majority: more than half of the YES and NO votes on this measure must be YES. Leaving it blank doesn't count either way.
- Left–right lean
- Not a left–right issue: a procedural or local question that liberals and conservatives don't typically split on (AI read of the official ballot summary).
