Background

The Manor City Council ordered this charter amendment election in Ordinance No. 827, passed August 5, 2026, after the city's Charter Review Commission studied the charter and recommended amendments.

Section 10.11, which this proposition would repeal, requires a community collaborative committee, an economic development committee, a public safety committee with a community advisory committee, and an emergency management committee, according to the ordinance.

Under the current charter, those committees include representatives of homeowners' associations, nonprofits, schools, the business community, city council and staff, and other residents as the council determines.

Put on the ballot by Manor City Council, August 5, 2026 (Ordinance No. 827; vote not stated in the ordinance).
