Last updated Sat, Nov 7, 4:33 PM ET

Ballot measure · November 3, 2026 · Only voters in this district

What it does
THIS IS A TAX INCREASE. The issuance of $165,300,000 in bonds and the levy of ad valorem taxes, without limit as to rate or amount, sufficient to pay the principal and interest on said bonds (paved roads and turnpikes)
A YES vote means
Sunfield MUD No. 2 could issue $165,300,000 in bonds for paved roads and turnpikes, repaid with property taxes without limit as to rate or amount.
A NO vote means
Sunfield MUD No. 2 would not be authorized to issue these $165,300,000 in bonds or levy taxes to repay them.
Needed to pass
A two-thirds supermajority: at least 2 out of every 3 YES and NO votes must be YES, so a measure can get a majority and still fail.
Left–right lean
Unclear: our AI read of the official summary isn't confident enough (we require 70%) to place this on the left–right spectrum, so we don't. Read the summary and decide for yourself.

The YES and NO lines are SpectrumVote's plain-language reading of the official text above; the official text is what you vote on.

Background

The Sunfield Municipal Utility District No. 2 board adopted the order calling this election at a special session on July 21, 2026, with all members present voting yes, according to the district's certificate for the order.

The district, created in 2005, has voter authorization from 2007 and 2018 elections for water, sewer and drainage bonds but has not sold any bonds, so its outstanding bonded debt is $0, and it has not yet levied a debt service or maintenance tax, according to the order.

The district acquired road powers by a Texas Commission on Environmental Quality order dated April 27, 2026, and the board found an engineering estimate of $165,300,000 for roads reasonable; this proposition would authorize road bonds up to that amount.

Put on the ballot by Sunfield MUD No. 2 Board of Directors, unanimous (all present), July 21, 2026.
