Background

The Sunfield Municipal Utility District No. 2 board adopted the order calling this election at a special session on July 21, 2026, with all members present voting yes, according to the district's certificate for the order.

The district, created in 2005, has voter authorization from 2007 and 2018 elections for water, sewer and drainage bonds but has not sold any bonds, so its outstanding bonded debt is $0, and it has not yet levied a debt service or maintenance tax, according to the order.

This proposition would authorize up to $419,250,000 in refunding bonds for water, sanitary sewer and drainage facilities, in addition to previously authorized amounts, alongside a separate proposition for $279,500,000 in new utility bonds.

Put on the ballot by Sunfield MUD No. 2 Board of Directors, unanimous (all present), July 21, 2026.
