Background

According to the order, Vista Municipal Utility District of Travis County was created by Texas Commission on Environmental Quality order dated March 14, 2008.

The district entered into a Fire Protection Agreement with Travis County Emergency Services District No. 8 for fire protection within the district. Under the agreement, the district pays the ESD for firefighting services and facilities.

Under the Texas Water Code, the plan cannot be implemented until the commission approves it and a majority of resident voters authorize it. The order says the district submitted the plan to the commission, and the proposition would also authorize taxes to finance fire protection facilities, equipment and services.

The board passed and approved the order on August 17, 2026.

Put on the ballot by Vista Municipal Utility District of Travis County Board of Directors, vote not stated, August 17, 2026 (Order calling the November 3, 2026 election).
