- What it does
- Keep Cudahy Sales Tax Revenues Local Measure To preserve and continue the City's existing local funding stream, which may be used to support general City services, including, but not limited to, street, sidewalk and City building repair; park maintenance and enhancements; and youth and recreational programs, shall the City's existing 3/4% transactions (sales) and use tax be extended indefinitely, unless repealed by voters, providing approximately $1.3 million annually for local use?
- A YES vote means
- Cudahy's existing 3/4% sales tax would be extended with no end date unless repealed by voters, providing about $1.3 million a year for general city services.
- A NO vote means
- Cudahy's existing 3/4% sales tax would not be extended indefinitely.
- What it would cost
- 0.75% sales tax: $0.75 on a $100 taxable purchase. It would continue a tax already in place rather than add a new one.
- Needed to pass
- A simple majority: more than half of the YES and NO votes on this measure must be YES. Leaving it blank doesn't count either way.
- Left–right lean
- Not a left–right issue: a procedural or local question that liberals and conservatives don't typically split on (AI read of the official ballot summary).
