Background

According to the district, Proposition C would fund replacing or updating instructional technology devices, classroom instructional displays and other teacher and student technology.

It is one of four bond propositions (B–E) that the district says were called based on recommendations from its citizen Long-Range Planning Committee of about 60 members.

The ballot must state "THIS IS A PROPERTY TAX INCREASE" under state law; the district projects its debt service rate will fall from $0.40 to $0.37 per $100 even if Propositions B–E pass.

ABC13 and Community Impact reported the Board called the bond election 6–1, with trustee Christine Kalmbach opposed.

Put on the ballot by Cypress-Fairbanks ISD Board of Trustees, 6–1 (Kalmbach opposed, as reported by ABC13), August 10, 2026.
