What it does
To generate approximately $460,907 annually to fund police, recreation, and park maintenance services where 70% of the special tax proceeds shall be used for police services, shall the measure levying $125/unit for single family homes and $140/unit for multifamily, $800/acre for non-residential, and $400/acre for undeveloped parcels, known as Measure O, be adopted without expiration, with 3% annual increase, with all funds generated staying in the City of Orange Cove?
A YES vote means
Orange Cove would levy a parcel tax of $125 per single-family unit, $140 per multifamily unit, $800 per non-residential acre and $400 per undeveloped acre, rising 3% a year with no end date, raising about $460,907 a year, 70% for police and the rest for recreation and parks.
A NO vote means
Orange Cove would not levy this parcel tax.
Needed to pass
A two-thirds supermajority: at least 2 out of every 3 YES and NO votes must be YES, so a measure can get a majority and still fail.
Left–right lean
Not a left–right issue: a procedural or local question that liberals and conservatives don't typically split on (AI read of the official ballot summary).
