What it does
MEASURE VV: Shall Article XXIII of the City Charter related to housing policies be amended to extend existing eviction protections to tenants renting single-unit dwellings and condominiums and require that for owner occupancy evictions from non-rent controlled units, the owner must intend in good faith to occupy the unit within 60 days after the tenant vacates and for at least 2 years thereafter?
A YES vote means
Santa Monica's eviction protections would extend to tenants of single-unit homes and condos, and owners evicting from non-rent-controlled units to move in would have to intend in good faith to live there within 60 days and for at least 2 years.
A NO vote means
Santa Monica's eviction protections would not be extended to these tenants, and the move-in requirement would not be added.
Needed to pass
A simple majority: more than half of the YES and NO votes on this measure must be YES. Leaving it blank doesn't count either way.
Left–right lean
A YES vote leans strongly left; a NO vote leans the other way (AI-estimated from the official ballot summary, 79% confidence).

The YES and NO lines are SpectrumVote's plain-language reading of the official text above; the official text is what you vote on.
