Background
The Forest Hill City Council proposed this and three other Charter amendments, Propositions 2 through 5, in Ordinance No. 2026-16, which it passed and approved on August 4, 2026.
Charter Section 4.02 says the City Manager serves at the will of the council. If the council removes the manager, it may now grant up to sixty (60) days of severance pay.
Proposition 4 would raise the maximum to ninety (90) days. The ballot language says the change is in accordance with state law.
