Background

The North Richland Hills City Council called this bond election in Resolution No. 2026-048, passed August 10, 2026; the ballot has four bond propositions, including $26.3 million for Fire Stations No. 2 and No. 3 (Proposition A).

According to the city's voter information document, the $10,710,000 in library bonds would carry estimated interest of $6,231,250 at a presumed 5% rate, for $16,941,250 total, and the estimated maximum annual tax increase on a $100,000 homestead is $1.83.

As of the resolution, the city had $109,200,000 in outstanding debt principal and levied a debt service tax rate of $0.150895 per $100, which it estimates would rise to $0.1750 if all the bonds are approved and issued.
