Background
According to the Maricopa County School Superintendent's informational pamphlet, the Balsz Elementary School District Governing Board called this special election to seek voter authorization to sell, lease or exchange district property.
The property is the site known as Orangedale, at 5048 and 5110 E. Oak Street in Phoenix (about 9.66 acres).
The district says proceeds could be used to buy school sites, build or improve school buildings, buy student transportation vehicles, or for other permitted capital spending. It says authorization would have no additional tax impact.
Approval would not require a sale; the decision would stay with the governing board. No arguments for or against were submitted for the pamphlet.
