Background
According to the Maricopa County School Superintendent's informational pamphlet, Littleton Elementary School District is asking to issue $95,000,000 in bonds. The money would renovate Littleton Elementary School, buy pupil transportation vehicles, buy instructional furniture, equipment and technology, and fund maintenance and security upgrades at district facilities.
The district estimates the cost on a home valued by the County Assessor at $250,000 at about $205 a year for 23 years, or $4,715 in total.
The pamphlet says the district has $37,525,000 in outstanding ad valorem tax debt, against a constitutional debt limit of $159,643,193. It also says the district has set up a volunteer taxpayer oversight committee to check bond spending.
Arguments in favor were submitted for the pamphlet; none were submitted against.
