Background
According to the Maricopa County School Superintendent's informational pamphlet, the Dysart Governing Board called this special bond election (Proposition 421) for facility renovations including aging air conditioning, safety and security improvements, and a new elementary school plus land for a high school.
The district says in the pamphlet that it has received about $61,000,000 less than it was due from the state over the past decade, and that Dysart voters last approved a bond 20 years ago.
The pamphlet projects an average bond tax rate of about $0.17 per $100 of assessed value. It estimates the cost at about $52 a year for 15 years, or $780 in total, for a home valued by the County Assessor at $250,000.
The pamphlet contains arguments for the bond and notes that no arguments against were submitted.
