Background
According to the Maricopa County School Superintendent's informational pamphlet, the Peoria Unified School District No. 11 Governing Board called this special election to seek voter authorization to sell, lease or exchange district-owned real property.
The properties are the District Office site at 6330 W. Thunderbird Road, Glendale (about 5.12 acres) and the Kachina Elementary School site at 5304 W. Crocus Drive, Glendale (about 13.16 acres).
The district says any proceeds could go to buying school sites, building or improving school buildings, buying student transportation vehicles, or other permitted capital spending, and that authorization would have no additional tax impact. Approval would not require a sale; that decision would stay with the governing board.
