Background

According to the Maricopa County School Superintendent's informational pamphlet, Riverside Elementary School District is asking to exceed its District Additional Assistance (capital) limit by $850,000 a year, or 10% of its revenue control limit if that is less, for 7 years.

The district says the money would go to STEM2 (science, technology, engineering, mathematics and medicine) textbooks and materials, replacement laptops and computers, library books and audio-visual equipment, and science and STEM equipment.

The pamphlet's capital plan estimates a total annual tax rate for the override of about $0.1566 per $100 of net assessed value.

Arguments in favor were submitted for the pamphlet; none were submitted against the override.

Put on the ballot by Riverside Elementary School District No. 2 Governing Board (special election call; date and vote not stated in the pamphlet).
